Decision to step back from acting
He said, “I was in 13 Reasons Why and it was really popular and definitely the highest I’d ever gotten to in acting. But it also kind of started to feel like a job… and I was in a very lucky position – it was always fun for me, always really inspiring, but then it just started to feel like a job.”
Finding the right notes in the world of music
It was then that he felt drawn to music through his rock band Wallows. Dylan said, “I felt that Wallows and music was the passion that we always wanted to pursue as a group to the fullest, and as far as we could. And I feel like I’m in a position now where I can do that for a while and take it as far as I possibly can.”
He knew he could only do it if he put 100 percent of his time and energy into it and took it very seriously.” Dylan said pursuing his passion for music “felt natural and inspiring.”
