Directors Guild of Korea (DGK) have officially announced candidates for the 23rd Director Cut Awards.
Set for May 20, Cut Awards of 23rd directors will identify outstanding tasks issued between January 1, 2024 and 31 March 2025, from the regular and associate DGK members from the films and drama series directed by DGK members.
The Directors Cut Awards were first launched by a group of young Korean filmmakers in 1998 under the banner of “Directors Cut”. Since 2017, the ceremony has been organized by Directors Guild of Korea (DGK). The awards introduced a new category for the drama series in 2022.
Fellow and winners are completely selected through votes cast by fellow Korean directors. The program honors the creators with awards like Best Director, Best Screen, Best New Director and Vision Award. Unlike other major film awards, the directors did not support the awards separate lead and supportive actors and actresses. Instead, they reward gender-based acting categories.
The nominees in 13 categories for the 23rd edition have now surfaced.
In the film category, Kim Hyung Joo for the match among the best directors, name for beautiful people, Dong Hub for Mickey 17, Wu Min for Harbin, Hybin for a normal family, Jung J Hyun and Hur Jin Ho for Xhuma for a normal family.
For the best new director, the nominee is Kim Dong Chul for Exorcism Chronicles: The Beginning, Kim Se Hi Follow, Name Dong Hub for Hyub for Handsome Gaib, Park Hong June to work and Oh Jung Min for House of the Seson.
The nomination of the best screenplay includes Kim Hyung Joo and Yun Jong Bin for the match, Park Ri Wong for Morning Land, Mickey 17 for Bong June, Oh Jung for House of the Season and Jung J Hyun for Axuma.
Kim da min for FAQ nominee for Vision Award, Kim Dong Chul for Exorcism Chronicles: The Beginning, The Beginning, Park Ri Wonse of the Land of Morning Cam, Park Hong June to work, Oh Jung Min of the Season and Li Mirang for my daughter.
In the best actress category, nominated person is Kim Go Yun for love in the big city and Axuhuma, Kim J Hwa for blessings, Shin Hi for Shin Hi Sun and Yang for Morning Land for the morning.
For the best actor, the nominees include Robert Pattinson for Mickey 17, Yo Ah for the match, Yun Joo sang for the morning land, Lee Bung Hun for the match and Choi Min Sick for Axuhuma.
The person enrolled for the new actress award is soon Kim Guum for Ulenson’s star, Kim Shin Rok for the rebellion, Axuhuma for Kim Ji A, Yang only for the morning land and Han Sun for Pilot.
Among the new actor award candidates, Kang is from Kang for House of the Season, sang Noh Hyun for love in Big City, Yun Joo sang for the morning land, Lee Do Hyun for Xhuma and Hong Cowng for Troll Factory.
In the series category, Kim Gok and Kim Seon for Family Matters nominee for Best Director, Park Chan Wook for the Simpathizer, Yeon Song Ho Ho be for Parsi: The Gray, Lee Chang is a killer Paradox, Lim de Hyung for Lits and Hwang Dong Hywid Gyd Gyne Hi.
The best actress’s nominee for the drama series is Kim High for a shop for Killers, Ba Donna for Family Affairs, Asom for LTN for LTN, Parsi for Jion So Ni: The Gray and Choon Wu O 8 shows.
In the best actor category for the series, nominees nominee for family matters, Ryu Seown for Family Affairs, Ahan J Hong for LTN, Lee Buwing Hun for Squed Game season 2, Lee for a killer contradiction and Choi Wu Shik for a killer contradiction.
Kim Hannah for a shop for killers for Killers for the new actress award in the series category includes Moon Gune Young for Helbound Season 2, Lee Suu Kyw for love in Big City, Lee Suu Hyun for Family Affairs and Jung Yi Seo for a killer contradiction.
Finally, the new actor award nominee for the series Kim Yo Han for a killer contradiction, Loman for Family Matters, Park Sung Hoon for Squed Game season 2, Hyun Bong Sick for Jin Ho Yun Ho for Jin Ho and a killer contradiction for love in big city.
