50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, alleges that his account was hacked and the hacker ran off with $300 million by using his platform to promote cryptocurrency.

“My Twitter and Thisis50.com got hacked,” the 48-year-old rapper posted on Instagram.

He said, “I have no connection to this crypto. Twitter acted quickly to lock my account again. Whoever did this made $300,000,000 in 30 minutes.”

Reacting to his post, a user wrote: “This hacker deserves a Grammy”.

“I like crypto but this isn’t good,” said another.

Screenshots of the “$GUNIT” memecoin, which initially had a market value of around $1 million, were shown in his Instagram post.

It seemed like 50 Cent’s X account was down by Saturday morning. In addition, his personal website was shut down as well.

50 Cent says he never made money from bitcoin

There was a time in the past when 50 Cent was a part of the Bitcoin movement. In 2018, the G-Unit leader responded to a TMZ article that claimed Fif received millions of dollars because he joined the Bitcoin craze early.

That same year, they offered their fans the opportunity to pay with it in exchange for their Animal Ambition record. The Queens sold more than 700 bitcoins, which were worth about $662 per bitcoin at the time, the report said. They reportedly earned between $7 million and $8.5 million.

As The Blast reports, 50 Cent was forced to file for bankruptcy in 2018 after claiming he did not own bitcoin and had no assets tied to it. 50 Cent admitted he took some early bitcoin payments but never profited from them.
