Mookerjee received the award from President Draupadi Murmu at Vigyan Bhawan in the national capital. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav was also present on the occasion.
Rani Mukherjee, who made her debut in the Bollywood industry with the film ‘Raja Ki Agi Baaraat’ in 1996, received her biggest acting honor till date after being awarded the National Award for her brilliant performance in the legal drama ‘Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway ‘, released in 2023.

The actress was removed after receiving the National Award from President Murmu. Mukherjee donated a beautiful brown saree for the event. He complemented his organization with a white necklace, silver climbing earrings and bangles.

Directed by Ashima Chibber, Rani Mukherjee is included as Mrs. Chatterjee in the film and Aniran Bhattacharya, Neena Gupta and Jim Sarbh also include lead roles.
Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway, an Indian couple living in Norway, is based on the real -life story of Sagarika Chakraborty and Anurup Bhattacharya, whose children were taken by Norwegian authorities in 2011.
Rani played Debika, a mother who challenges an unfamiliar legal system to regain her children’s custody. The film highlights cultural misconceptions between Indian upbringing traditions and Western Child Welfare systems.

Earlier, talking to ANI, Rani shared her experience of being a part of the film and inspired them to find out experimental cinema.
The actress told Annie, “It gives great pleasure when we realize that our audience wants to watch various types of movies, materials, and if we present good materials and story, they will come to see,” the actress told ANI.
Shah Rukh Khan and Wickran Massey shared the best actor award for their performance in young and 12th failure respectively.

Apart from Rani’s victory, the 71st National Awards have also recognized many other films and artists. The story of Kerala was awarded the best cinematography.
The best choreography ‘Rocky and Rani Kim Prem Kahani’ went to the Vaibhavi businessman for Dhindora Baje. Kaithal received the Best Hindi Film Award, while the best female playback singer went to Shilpa Rao.
