New Delhi: The much-awaited epic drama Kalki 2898 AD starring an impressive cast of megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan has released in theatres today. It is directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Vyjayanthi Movies. The initial reviews are out and it looks like the period drama has managed to impress the audience.

Kalki 2898 AD Trailer
The trailer of Kalki was released a few days ago and it was impressive. The 2.51 minute trailer is a mix of mythology as well as science-fiction and VFX, with Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan playing the role of Ashwatthama who vows to protect Deepika Padukone, who is shown to be pregnant in the film.
This child is believed to end the reign of Shashvat Chatterjee, who lives in the complex with all the facilities required to sustain life. Telugu star Prabhas is shown in grey shades as he works at the behest of Chatterjee’s character. As the trailer progresses, the audience gets to see an epic battle between Big B and Prabhas.
At the trailer launch, Amitabh shared his experience of working on the film. He said, “It was a great honour for me to work on this project. Working in a setup where they have gone way ahead of us, which most of us have been doing in this film industry our whole lives. And I really appreciate them going a little ahead of the times and making us a part of it, working in conditions that we never thought we would be able to work in. I want to congratulate Nag Ashwin and the production for thinking of something like this film. It was a great honour for me to be a part of it.”
