Romeo + JulietEnjoy the view of the aquarium as well as the antics of Leia (Kelly Haverda) and her friends.

It’s 1996 and Leia has returned home to her grandparents – Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp) and Red (Kurtwood Smith) – in Wisconsin. Part 1 ended with Leia and Nate (Maxwell AC Donovan) almost kissing. Things are complicated as Leia sees Jay (Mace Coronel) and Nate going out with Nikki (Sam Morelos). The fact that Nate is Gwen’s (Ashley Aufderheide) brother and Gwen is Leia’s best friend are additional obstacles in the road.

That ’90s Show: Part 2 (English)
the creator: Greg Mettler
Mould: Debra Jo Rupp, Kurtwood Smith, Callie Haverda, and Ashley Aufderheide
Episodes: 8
Order: 24 minutes
Story: In the summer of 1996, Leia, her friends, and grandparents have fun while avoiding minor crises
There’s a pregnancy scare, some crazy parties that get everyone, including Kitty, drunk, Kitty and Red trying to make their wedding fun, a trip to Paris, and the ongoing rivalry between Red and Bob (Don Stark), Leia’s grandfather. Some of the stuff is unbelievable, including reactions to racism and homophobia that feel very much 2020 and definitely not 1990s Wisconsin.

The adults, especially Rupp and Smith, do a lot of the heavy lifting, but the youngsters don’t do too badly either. There’s an easy camaraderie among the six teens as they joke around with each other, and there are some laugh-out-loud moments. Sherry (Andrea Anders), Gwen and Nate’s mom, and Donna (Laura Prepon), Leia’s mom, are fun.
24 minutes per pop, That ’90s Show It doesn’t waste your precious time. The fact that the show isn’t hoping to revive old memories by stuffing cameos, but rather trying to draw our attention to the new teens in Point Place is certainly encouraging. Now we can’t wait for Part 3, which comes on October 24.
