Tom Cruise and Glen Powell shared screen space in the 2022 aerial action entertainer, Top Gun: Maverick. They reunited at the screening of Twisters.
Glen Powell is going through his phase at the moment. After the box-office success of Anyone But You and the rave reviews of Richard Linklater’s Hit Man, Glen has many more big films lined up. One should not forget that this streak actually began with Joseph Kosenski’s 2022 blockbuster aerial action entertainer, Top Gun: Maverick. Tom Cruise will work with Glen Powell again
Glenn met his Top Gun: Maverick co-star Tom Cruise at the screening of his upcoming disaster film Twisters in London. Tom shared a picture with Glenn from the premiere on his social media handle. Tom wore a white T-shirt, dark blue denim and a black jacket. Meanwhile, Glenn opted for a black suit for the occasion. The two can be seen holding popcorn with a poster of Twisters on the tub. Tom captioned the post, “Fun night with friends, watching a movie!!”
Glenn also shared the same picture on his Instagram handle and wrote, “When your wingman follows you through the storm…” Several actors dropped their compliments in the comments section. Aaron Paul commented, “Obsessed with this. Two legends.” Octavia Spencer posted fire emojis while Glenn’s Twisters co-star Daisy Edgar-Jones dropped a few exclamation marks. Top Gun’s official Instagram handle also commented on Tom’s post, “Our maverick and executioner (applause and airplane emojis).”
Top Gun 3?
Fans of the Top Gun franchise too couldn’t hold back their happiness. One of them wrote, “Waiting for Top Gun 3.” Another commented, “Maverick and Hangman (emotional emoji).” “Okay, we get ‘Top Gun 3 is coming’, right?” said a third user. “Top Gun Reloaded (fire emoji),” shared a user.
The Top Gun franchise began with the first installment directed by Tony Scott in 1986, starring Tom as daring naval aviator Lieutenant Pete Mitchell aka Maverick. The blockbuster’s sequel released 35 years later in 2022, introducing Glenn as Lieutenant Jake Seresin aka Hangman.
While Tom will be seen in the next instalment of his spy thriller franchise Mission: Impossible, Glenn’s Twisters is set to release in theatres on July 19.
