Siddharth is ready for the release of his film. Hindustani 2 (Indian 2). The film marks Siddharth’s first collaboration with Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan. Directed by Shankar, the film will release on July 12. It also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, SJ Suryah, Bobby Simha, Vivekh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Brahmanandam, Samuthirakani, Nedumudi Venu, Delhi Ganesh, Manobala, Jagan, Kalidas Jayaram, Gulshan Grover, Zakir Hussain, Piyush Mishra, Akhilendra Mishra. Oops! Siddharth, who is busy with the film’s promotional campaign, recently opened up about why South actors don’t feature in liquor commercials.
Siddharth said News18 Shosha Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth have decided not to endorse alcohol. He said, “Rajini sir and Kamal sir took a decision years ago which they still stand by. They do not support surrogate advertising for alcohol, smoking, pan masala and other such things.”
“If they had done it, others in the South would have done it too. Nobody does it just because they set an example. We are very proud to have two such legends in our industry because they are two people who have shown us the way in many ways,” Siddharth added.
Talking about Hindustani 2, Siddharth said he is happy to be working with S Shankar after 21 years. “The one thing that connects the two is Shankar sir. They both understand him and he understands them. The films they do together have a once-in-a-generation appeal. Shankar sir uses both of them brilliantly.”
