While some believers believe Bieber paid a hefty fee for the gig, there are online discussions that his performance was lame and amounted to an attempt to “show his underwear”. On the other hand, some are venting their anger at the Ambani family, calling the event a tasteless display of wealth and suggesting that the money could have been more wisely invested in development projects in India.

“Disgusting. Indian billionaire could spend that money saving thousands, if not millions, of child victims of sex trafficking in his country,” commented a user on X (formerly Twitter). However, the claim was quickly refuted by another person, who said, “Ambani is actually very philanthropic. His Reliance Foundation has done a lot of good work in rural India.”
Another person said, “This is a tasteless display of money” and “a terrible message for today’s society”, while another added, “If he is a billionaire and asks for his services, he sets the price. There is nothing controversial or illegal here.”

Many felt it was too easy for the Baby singer to earn such a huge amount of money for doing nothing other than lip-syncing and performing for a short time. The 30-year-old singer, who flew back to Miami soon after his performance, shared photos and videos from the event on Instagram on Saturday night.
“Bieber said I’m not gonna shave or nothing. Just wear a white tank and show up and do your thing. What a flex. Easy,” another wrote. “Justin Bieber gets $10 million to show his underwear at the Ambani sangeet. Some people have all the luck…” another posted. “Just because you have money doesn’t mean you’re a gentleman,” one annoyed user pointed out.

Justin, who cancelled his Justice World Tour last year after being diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, earned $10 million for a private performance. In comparison, Rihanna, Katy Perry and Beyonce, who have previously performed at Ambani weddings, reportedly earned $8.5 million, $5.3 million and $4 million respectively. The Canadian singer mesmerized the crowd with his performance at the duo’s concert held at Jio Convention Centre in Mumbai on Friday night.
Talking about his personal life, the artist is soon going to welcome his first child with his wife Hailey Bieber. The two announced the news just a month before renewing their wedding vows in Hawaii.
