The sequel to the latest Malayalam investigative thriller, Thalavan‘Anna’ starring Asif Ali and Biju Menon is in the works, the makers announced at a success function held in Kochi on Saturday.
In addition, the team posted a special announcement teaser on Instagram featuring the voice of actor Dileesh Pothan’s character in the film. “This (the first film) was a story of how a criminal within the police force went after the police. But the story doesn’t end there. In the next episode, I will narrate the story of someone who went largely unnoticed in the story of this case,” says the voice.
Directed by Jis Joy, Thalavan The film narrates how a murder case leads to inter-departmental rivalry between two police officers. Written by Sharath Perumbavoor and Anand Thevarkkattu, the film released in theatres on May 24.
The film’s cast also included Anusree, Miya, Kottayam Nazir, Shankar Ramakrishnan, Jaffer Idukki, Joji Mundakayam, Sujith Shankar, Renjith Shekhar, Sabumon Abdusamad, Ansal Palluruthy, Tessa, Dinesh Prabhakar, Anurup, Nandan Unni and Bilas Chandrahasan.

The film had music composed by Deepak Dev, cinematography by Sharan Velayudhan and editing by Sooraj ES. Arun Narayan and Sijo Sebastian financed the film under their banners Arun Narayan Productions and London Studios.
