The British-American musician announced in a statement shared on Instagram that his daughter Lucy-Blue died “peacefully” on Friday. She was 25 at the time. Lucy-Blue was the daughter of Slash’s longtime partner Meagan Hodges and her ex-husband Mark Knight.

“Lucy-Blue Knight (December 6, 1998), beloved daughter of Meagan Hodges and Mark Knight, stepdaughter of Samantha Somers Knight and Slash, sister of Scarlett Knight, half-sister of London and Cash Hudson, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2024 in Los Angeles, California,” the statement read.

Slash called him “an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a charming, lovable, sweet soul.” The statement concluded, “The family asks for privacy at this time and requests that speculation on social media be kept to a minimum as they grieve and process this devastating loss.”

Following Lucie-Blue’s death, Slash cancelled several shows on his ongoing solo Serpent Tour. Over the weekend, the November Rain hitmaker announced that his shows scheduled for July 22, 24, 25 and 27 have been cancelled due to “unforeseen circumstances”. Slash expressed his apologies to fans and revealed that the tour will resume on July 28 in Toronto.

Lucy-Blue’s bizarre Instagram post hours after Slash announced his death

Fans expressed their deepest condolences over her demise, but there was something that didn’t sit well with them. Following Slash’s statement about Lucie-Blue’s death, a bizarre post was shared on his Instagram account. Although it was a harmless selfie, what netizens found strange was the timing of the post and its mysterious caption.

This led many to believe the post must have been scheduled for a specific time in the future, which coincidentally happened to be the day after her death was made public. Lucie-Blue’s cryptic post read, “Whether I made you feel isolated, controlled you, asked you to quit your job from the comfort of being financially supported by your parents, or drowned out real issues with toxic positivity – I’m sorry.”
