Blake Lively may not be Lady Deadpool, but she definitely has a role in shaping Ryan Reynolds’ iconic superhero character. She revealed how in a new video as she shared a photo of herself kissing Ryan from the sets of Deadpool and Wolverine. Blake kisses Ryan
Blake and Ryan shared a joint post on their Instagram handles on Monday. The picture seen in the carousel is from the sets of the Deadpool threequel, in which Ryan is sitting wearing his costume and Deadpool prosthetic. Blake is standing next to him, wearing a red tank top. In the picture, they are seen kissing each other.
Blake is a ‘millennial girl’
A video of Blake was also part of the carousel. Wearing a navy blue tank top in the photo and facing the camera, she says, “Tell me without saying that Deadpool is marrying a millennial girl in real life.” The video then takes us through several of Deadpool’s jokes in the franchise, which reference millennial pop culture.
These include popstar Avril Lavigne, fantasy novel and film franchise Harry Potter, Pixar’s Frozen, singer Celine Dion, boy band NSYNC, sitcom Sabrina the Teenage Witch, animated series My Little Pony, hairstyle summer balayage, writer JD Bloom, and even some millennial meta humor. Blake comes back at the end of the video, saying, “I’ve never felt so seen.”
Blake’s caption for the post read, “BRB I’m buying a milky pen to write your name on my hand @vancityreynolds. My y2k girls, I must be competitive because @itendswithusmovie is coming out in 3 weeks but when it comes to your middle school obsessions, your post-baby feelings, or your love for good men who use feminism as a tool, your love for Wizard of Oz, Succession, Sandy & Danny, driving with Avril with a bang, the way the choreography to a certain boy*band song captivates me, Baz Luhrmann fireworks to punctuate a moment, even the fact that our hair color is determined by the seasons and the French method by which it’s dyed, it’s all seen… my words… (laughing with tears, red heart and yellow heart emojis).”
Ryan also reposted Blake’s video on his Instagram Stories and wrote, “Find yourself a man who respects you like this guy.” Ryan will next be seen in Deadpool and Wolverine, which is set to be released in theaters this Friday. Meanwhile, Blake will star in It Ends With Us.
