Taylor Swift is currently busy with the European leg of the Eras Tour, the most recent performance took place in Hamburg, Germany. As part of the theatrics, the popstar picks out a young fan from the crowd, with whom she interacts during the performance of the song ’22’, and places her black hat on his head. This is part of the ‘Red’ set, in which she wears an off-white oversized T-shirt with the words ‘A lot going on at the moment’ and different lyrics from the album written on it, along with black sequin shorts and a black hat. This outfit was originally part of the ’22’ music video which came out in 2013.

At the Hamburg Night 1 show, a little girl is seen standing at the edge of the stage, following the backup dancers’ dance routine while Taylor walks toward her. The video shows a sweet moment when they hug and Taylor says ‘I love you.’ The girl gives her her friendship bracelet, which the singer promptly puts on her wrist, after which Taylor puts her hat on the girl’s head. They high-five, and Taylor returns to the stage and continues singing.
Other such examples at concerts
This heartwarming tradition has been going on since the beginning of the Eras Tour, showing that the record-breaking artist cares about her fans showing support for her work. But how does she choose who to give part of her costume to? While some recipients are personally acquainted with Taylor, such as when Selena Gomez brought her 9-year-old sister Gracie to the show, she got the hat.
Another example is when it was given to Bianca Bryant, whose late father Kobe Bryant was friends with the Cruel Summer singer. However, Taylor is also known to take to social media to pick apart fans who have consistently supported her over the years.
Earlier, the Grammy winner would select fans from social media platforms who would be invited to ‘secret sessions’ where she would give them a sneak peek of a new album before its release. Through such touching gestures, Taylor Swift is known to maintain a strong bond with her fans.
