Deadpool and Wolverine continues to rise to success as it achieves historic milestones at the global box office followed by its remarkable debut as the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time. Such success is achieved when a film’s opening credits scene goes viral. Ryan Reynolds introduced fans to dancepool as the video of Deadpool dancing to NSYNC’s Bye Bye went viral on the internet.

While many thought Ryan was dancing in the opening credits, the choreography was done by Nick Pauly. The choreographer shared the news on his Instagram account soon after the film’s release.

This isn’t Ryan dancing to NSYNC’s hit song

In the opening credits of the latest installation of the Deadpool franchise, Ryan’s character Deadpool recreates the iconic moves of NSYNC’s Bye Bye Bye choreography from the official music video. During a recent press conference, the actor revealed that it wasn’t him who did the scene, but choreographer Nick Pauly.

In a chat with Ashley & Co., he unveiled the Dancepool mask, “He’s doing a lot of the moves that have been previously established by *NSYNC. “If it looks like the person dancing doesn’t have arthritis, it’s him,” as reported by People magazine. He joked, “There are moments where, you know, there’s a little pop and lock,” discussing the moments he steps into the Deadpool suit in front of the camera. “The pop really pops, like it breaks. And the lock won’t open.”

Praising Nick’s talent, he said, “I will treasure the talent of Nick Pauly. I will dedicate his talent there and thank him for his contribution and services.”

The scene was a perfect blend of dance and fight as the Merc with a Mouth is seen fighting the men of the Time Variance Authority (TVA) as he was drying the grave of Logan, who died in the movie Logan (2017). Deadpool used his adamantium bones to fight the soldiers of the TVA while he kept dancing to Bye Bye Bye as the background score.

Meet Dancepool aka Nick Pauly

As the end credits of the film Deadpool and Wolverine roll, Nick Pauly’s name is Dancepool. Nick is a dancer-choreographer and content creator. He has also appeared in music videos of singers like Katy Perry and Doja Cat and also appeared in the 2020 film- Prom. The creator shared the news of his performance as Dancepool in the film on Instagram and expressed his gratitude to the 47-year-old actor for the opportunity.

He shared a photo of himself in Deadpool’s costume on his Instagram account and captioned it, “It’s true! I am Dancepool in the new “Deadpool and Wolverine”. This has been so hard to keep a secret! I can’t believe I had the honor of being @vancityreynolds “dance” double for the entire movie’s opening scene!!! Like what?!? What is life?”

Nick also shared a behind the scenes video of him performing the viral choreography on his Instagram story and shared the difficulties of dancing while wearing the suit. “This clip makes me laugh because the way I’m dancing shows that I’m tired,” he wrote. He explained that it was difficult to get the moves right while wearing the suit as there were several technical issues. He added, “After every few takes we had to take a break because the costume would get too hot, the oxygen level would reduce and my legs would feel like cement. I could tell by my little jumps that I was ready to say ‘cut’.”
