Farah Khan wrote the first post on her mother’s death: She was a very unique person

Mumbai: On Monday, Farah took to Instagram and wrote an emotional post in memory of her mother.

Describing her mother as a unique person, she wrote, “My mother was a very unique person.. never wanted the limelight or any fuss around her.. despite the hardships she faced in her early life, she was that rare woman who had no bitterness or jealousy towards anyone. Everyone who met her loved her and understood where we got our sense of humour from. She was probably more funny and funnier than Sajid and me. I don’t know if she could see the genuine love and compassion that came for her.. not just from our friends and of course family, but many of her colleagues and people who worked in our house came up to tell how my mother had helped them get loans or sent them money.. never expecting money in return.”

Farah also thanked those who enquired about her well-being after her mother’s death.
He said, “Thank you to everyone who came home to support us in our grief… to all those who sent and are still sending messages. To all the doctors and nurses at Nanavati Hospital who tried their best every day. Also thank you to our consulting doctors at Chandigarh PGI and Belle Vue Hospital… We are grateful that you gave us the opportunity to spend a few more days with him.”

Farrah concluded her post by uploading a song by her mother’s favourite singer, Don Williams.

“It’s time to get back to work now.. this is what she was always proud of. OUR WORK! I don’t need time to heal this knot that will always be in my heart.. I don’t want to miss her because she is always a part of me.. Grateful to the universe for letting her be my mother and letting us take care of her the way she single-handedly took care of us our whole lives.. no more mourning.. I want to celebrate her every day.. thank you all.. P.S.- The song that was playing was by her favorite country singer, Don Williams. Knowing her, she would probably think it’s too filmy of me to use it here,” she wrote.

Farah and Sajid Khan’s mother passed away on July 26. She was 79. The heartbreaking news comes just days after Farah revealed in an Instagram post that her mother had undergone ‘multiple surgeries’.

Farah recently wrote on her mother’s birthday, “Last month I realised how much I love my mother Menaka. She is the strongest and bravest person I have ever known. Even after multiple surgeries, her sense of humour remains intact. Happy birthday Maa! Today is a good day to be back home. I can’t wait for you to be strong enough to fight for me again. I love you.”

Many celebrities including superstars Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Rani Mukerji, Shilpa Shetty, Bhushan Kumar and MC Stan visited Farah’s house to offer condolences on the demise of her mother.
