Eugene and Dan Levy will take over hosting duties for the 2024 Emmy Awards

Father-son duo, Eugene Levy and Dan Levy, are reportedly in talks to host the 2024 Primetime Emmy Awards. This potential hosting gig would make them the first father-son duo to host the event. However, negotiations are still ongoing, and it is uncertain whether a final agreement will be reached. Representatives for the network, the Television Academy, and the actors have declined to comment on the matter, according to deadline,

Winning Emmy Awards is nothing new for the Levy family. In 2020, they made history with their show Schitt’s CreekThe comedy categories won and earned the two separate Emmy Awards. Eugene won Lead Actor and Dan won Supporting Actor, and the show also won Outstanding Comedy Series. Dan’s contributions extended to writing and directing, earning him a total of four Emmys that year.

Their potential role as Emmy hosts comes after several memorable performances. They kicked off the 2020 SAG Awards with an opening monologue and presented the first and last awards of the night. The pair also served as guest-hosts Ellen And Eugene joined in Saturday night Live When Dan hosted in 2021.

Though a parent and child have never hosted the Emmy Awards together before, Danny Thomas and his daughter Marlo Thomas have hosted together with other people at different times.

Eugene Levy is currently the host and executive producer of Apple TV+ The Reluctant Travelerwhich is nominated for Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series and Outstanding Writing for a Nonfiction Program.
