Telugu superstar Prabhas on Wednesday donated Rs 2 crore to the Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund (CMDRF) for rehabilitation efforts in Kerala’s landslide-hit Wayanad district, which hit the southern state on July 30.

The actor was recently seen in the 3D science-fiction film Kalki 2898 ADWhich has grossed over Rs 1,000 crore globally. A source close to the actor told, “Prabhas donated Rs 2 crore to Kerala CM Relief Fund for Wayanad landslide victims today.”
The death toll from the devastating landslide that struck Mundakkai and Choorlamala areas of Wayanad on July 30 has risen to 226, while search and rescue operations are still underway. Prabhas is the latest film personality to come forward in the need of the hour. On Sunday, other Telugu superstars Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan and Allu Arjun announced their donations to the CMDRF.

While Chiranjeevi and his son Ram Charan donated Rs 1 crore, Allu Arjun pledged a sum of Rs 25 lakh. Earlier, Malayalam stars Mammootty, Dulquer Salmaan, Fahadh Faasil, Nazriya and Tovino Thomas and from the Tamil film industry Kamal Haasan, Surya, Jyothika, Karthi, Vikram, Nayanthara and Vignesh Sivan had donated to the CMDRF. Noted filmmaker Anand Patwardhan also contributed to the relief fund.
