Dhee has added another single to her discography. The singer, best known for songs like ‘Ae Sandakara’, ‘Kannamma Kannamma’ and ‘Rowdy Baby’, has released her latest single ‘I Wear My Roots Like A Medal’.
The song sees the singer travelling to her homeland in Jaffna, Sri Lanka, where she sings about dealing with the pain and emotional burdens passed down through generations.
Composed, written and performed by Dhee, the song is produced by him along with Santhosh Narayanan and Aditya Ravindran. Santhosh has also mixed the song, which is directed and edited by Amit Krishnan, who also directed the viral hit ‘Enjoy Enjaami’.
Dhee had earlier said in an Instagram post that the song is, “dedicated to all those who are looking for their roots, and I hope it helps you embrace all the things that make you you.”
This song is Dhee’s second single after ‘Enjoy Enjaam’. Composed by Dhee with music by Santosh and featuring Arivu, this song is a mix of pop and hip hop with elements of R&B and oppari.
Meanwhile, Dhee recently sang Santosh’s song ‘Ta Takkara’ Kalki 2898 AD In which Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan are in the lead roles.
