This is the second directorial venture of actor Duniya Vijay. Bheem, This is similar to his first directorial film Felga. In both the movies Vijay plays a villain who fights for the greater good; but if that happens it might be a good idea. Accra supported the reformed rioters, Bhima Considers the need for a drug-free society.

Now it is clear that Vijay likes to write about brutal police. Dhananjay roared Accra Vijay’s character as a ruthless police officer overshadowed him. Bheem, While Vijay plays a supporting role, Priya emerges as the best performer of the film, playing the role of a ruthless yet honest police woman with 100% perfection.

Bhima (Kannada)

Director: Conquest of the world

Mould: Duniya Vijay, Ashwini, Achyuta Kumar, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Priya Satmarshan

Runtime: 148 minutes

Plot: Bhima, an orphan raised in the slums, takes on Dragon Manju, a dangerous drug dealer

HoweverSalga is a better movie than Bhima Because the former is a mix of message and entertainment. In his latest film, Vijay has stretched his screenplay too much, especially in the second half, and the film becomes a mixed bag.

The story is about an orphan Bheema (Vijay), who is raised by a mechanic Ramanna (Achyuth Kumar), and he meets a drug dealer Dragon Manju (Manju), who runs a racket and puts the lives of youngsters at risk. Corrupt ministers use these underprivileged people for their political ambitions.

Amidst Vijay’s barrage of thoughts, you get a glimpse of the quality writing in the mindset of the policewoman Girija and the female lead (played by Ashwini). Girija’s fearlessness is refreshing in the male-dominated, egocentric world of crime and politics, and her character criticises the breaking of rules by young boys and girls and urges them to focus on education instead of getting addicted to dangerous habits.

Vijay has shot the film inside the small lanes and crowded dirty houses of Kalasipalya area and SP Road in Bengaluru. For those who have not been to these seedy areas of the city, this film is a completely new experience. The world is made even better by Charan Raj’s dynamic score, which creates a pleasant surprise with every song or background music, and the actor-director also keeps presenting interesting characters to us.

But Bhima It slips in the second half. Vijay tries to delve deeper into the drug scandal, but nothing is revealed, and the film seems too explanatory about the harmful effects of drugs and loses its momentum.

In the final scene, Bhima Predictable drama is done to attract the audience. Handling a sensitive issue and not glorifying it is a tough job. The film aims to encourage the youth to stay away from drugs. While in some places, it makes this point clear, in many scenes, the portrayal of misguided youth may give the wrong message.

Vijay, who has acted for two decades, seems to be getting a grip on direction. He just needs a solid writer who can go beyond the punchlines and bring continuity to the story.

Bhima is currently running in cinemas
