Mumbai: Actor Suniel Shetty, fondly called ‘Anna’ by fans, is celebrating his 63rd birthday today. Making his special day even more special, his daughter and actress Athiya Shetty posted adorable pictures for him. In the first post, she uploaded a beautiful candid moment from the ‘haldi’ ceremony. In the picture, Suniel is seen kissing his daughter on the cheek, expressing his love for her. In the caption, Athiya called her father her “best friend”.
She wrote, “Happy birthday to my best friend, best father and best human being (red heart emoji) I love you… so blessed to learn something new from you every day.”
In the second post, Athiya brought back old memories by sharing a photo of her childhood.
In this adorable picture, little Athiya is seen sitting on her father’s lap. Meanwhile, on the work front, Suniel has several exciting projects lined up.
From ‘Welcome 3’ to ‘The Legend of Somnath’, Sunil will be seen in various roles in upcoming projects.
Speaking to ANI, he said, “In the coming months, I will be seen in ‘The Legend of Somnath’. I am very excited about it. The film is done… only some VFX work is left… I also have ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ and a show with Lionsgate called ‘Nanda Devi’.” If reports are to be believed, ‘Nanda Devi’ is an “explosive thriller” project.
In a career spanning over three decades, Shetty has appeared in films such as “Dilwale”, “Mohra”, “Gopi Kishan”, “Krishna”, “Vinashak”, “Dhadkan”, “Hera Pheri”, “Hulchul” and “Main Hoon Na”. Fans are eagerly waiting to see her again opposite actor Akshay Kumar in ‘Welcome to the Jungle’. The film is the third instalment of the hit franchise ‘Welcome’ which starred Feroz Khan, Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar and Paresh Rawal in lead roles. The second instalment titled ‘Welcome Back’ was released in 2015.
In the second part, John Abraham and Shruti Haasan have replaced Akshay and Katrina. Both the films have been directed by Anees Bazmee. ‘Welcome 3’ will hit the theatres in December this year. The third part was announced through a promo on Akshay’s birthday last year.
