In addition to growing out his hair and mustache, the Chiefs tight end has also trimmed his beard.
Patrick Mahomes opened up about Taylor Swift’s influence on Travis Kelce’s life. On Tuesday, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback revealed that the 34-year-old athlete grew out his hair because of his popstar girlfriend during a town hall special with SiriusXM NFL Radio.

“I was telling him to grow his hair out, and all of a sudden, Taylor convinced him to do it,” the 28-year-old NFL star said of his Chiefs teammate. Kelce sported a buzzcut fade throughout the summer before returning to training camp with long hair in late July.

After his return, fans soon noticed that Kelce was growing out both his mustache and hair. The Chiefs’ tight end also cut down his signature long beard. Although Swift may be the reason behind this change in his look, she previously loved his buzzcut.
In February, Kelce’s barber Patrick Regan told Fox News, “Taylor loves this haircut. She’s watched me cut her hair a few times and always compliments it afterward.” Regan also revealed that he often gives the New Heights podcast host a “skin fade” or “bald fade” haircut.

Kelce’s previous short haircut is one of the most popular styles requested by customers. “It’s kind of ironic because it’s a haircut [that] Barbers have been serving their customers all day, every day for 100 years,” Regan added, adding that this shows “how big of an icon Trav is.”
Following a New York Times article that referred to his hairstyle as the “Travis Kelce haircut,” the NFL star dismissed claims that he invented it. “Can you guys stop telling people I invented the fade? I did not. I walked into the barber shop one day not even knowing what I was buying. I did not invent the fade,” Kelce said on his podcast in February.
