Manoj Bajpayee celebrates Gulmohar’s triple win at 70th National Film Awards: Such a huge achievement

New Delhi: Manoj Bajpayee is on cloud nine as his family film “Gulmohar” won three National Awards on Friday.

The winners of the 70th National Film Awards were announced on Friday in the national capital. The jury includes – Rahul Rawail, Chairman, Feature Film Jury; Neela Madhab Panda, Chairperson, Non-Feature Film Jury; Shri Gangadhar Mudlair, Chairperson, Best Writing on Cinema Jury.

Manoj Bajpayee’s film Gulmohar won the Best Hindi Film award. The film also received the Special Mention and Best Screenplay awards.

In an exclusive interview with ANI, Manoj shared his happiness over his film receiving three National Awards.

He said, “It is a huge achievement for the entire team and the director, whose debut film won three National Awards.”

Apart from Gulmohar, Malayalam films Kadhikan, Ponniyin Selvan Part-1 and Sanjay Salil Chowdhary also got special mention.

Directed by Rahul V. Chittela, ‘Gulmohar’ revolves around the multi-generational Batra family who are all set to move out of their 34-year-old family home – Gulmohar – and how this change in their lives is a rediscovery of the bonds that have held them together as a family, along with secrets and insecurities.

The film also stars Sharmila Tagore, Simran and Suraj Sharma in pivotal roles.
