Oasis will reunite for a tour, the Britpop band known for its timeless hits such as “Wonderwall” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger” announced Tuesday, ending a 15-year hiatus and, potentially, a long-standing feud between brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher.

The guitar band said tickets for the 14-date tour will go on sale Saturday at 9 a.m. The tour will kick off in Cardiff, Wales, on July 4-5, 2025, followed by four dates in Manchester, four at Wembley Stadium in London, two in Edinburgh and two in Dublin, where the tour will end on August 17, the band said in a social media post.

The band said, “This is it. This is what’s happening.”

Oasis split up in 2009 after years of infighting, with Noel Gallagher officially leaving the band just before a performance at a festival near Paris. Even before the disbandment, the brothers had a long-standing feud and reportedly did not speak to each other for several years following the breakup.

“People will write and say whatever they want, but I couldn’t go on working with Liam another day,” the band’s guitarist and songwriter Noel Gallagher wrote in a statement at the time.

Although the Gallagher brothers have not performed together since, both regularly perform Oasis songs at their solo shows. They have also criticised each other in the press.

Noel Gallagher blamed his younger brother for a hangover that caused him to cancel a concert in 2009. The frontman denied the accusation and filed a lawsuit, which was later withdrawn.

In 2011, Noel Gallagher pointed out The Associated Press In an interview he revealed that he left the band following an incident in which Liam Gallagher started wielding a guitar “like an axe … and he was swinging this guitar around and he, you know, blew my face off with it, you know?”

In 2019, Liam Gallagher told AP He was ready for a reconciliation. “The most important thing is that he and I are brothers,” he said. “He thinks I’m desperate to get the band back together for the money. But I didn’t join the band to make money. I joined the band to have fun and see the world.”

“I don’t know what his problem is,” he added. “I think he just wanted to go away and have his solo career, make all the money and be surrounded by all these people you can fire and hire whenever you want. You can’t do that to me.”

With this announcement, the Britpop forefathers put an end to days of speculation by fans. A short video on the band’s social media accounts on Sunday night showed the date “27.08.24” and the time “8am”, written in the same font as the famous Oasis logo. The brothers shared it on their personal accounts.

Of course, fans have long speculated that a reunion might be on the horizon: After the 2017 bombing at Ariana Grande’s concert in Oasis’ hometown of Manchester, which killed 22 people, Liam Gallagher performed at a benefit concert that fueled reunion speculation. He criticized his brother’s absence, but a spokesperson said Noel Gallagher was unable to attend due to a long-standing family trip. Benefit organizers said Noel Gallagher approved the use of Oasis’ music and donated royalties from “Don’t Look Back in Anger” to the British Red Cross’s One Love Manchester Fund.

Later that year, Liam Gallagher tweeted to his brother, leading some to think he had made this fake tweet: “I’d like to say Happy Christmas to Team NG, it’s been a fantastic year, thank you for everything, looking forward to meeting you tomorrow because you were LG”

Prior to Tuesday’s announcement, Oasis was already set to release a new collection, “Definitely Maybe – Deluxe 30th Anniversary Edition,” celebrating the anniversary of their debut album.

Rumors of a possible reunion were fueled last weekend when Liam Gallagher responded on social media to unconfirmed reports of the band performing at London’s Wembley Stadium and Manchester’s Heaton Park. When a social media user criticized Heaton Park, the Manchester native wrote, “See you at the front,” calling the user a vulgarity. In another stand-alone post on X, he joked, “I never liked that word FORMER.”

“You tell me man,” Liam Gallagher responded. He also responded to several negative tweets about the potential reunion with, “Your attitude sucks” and “Shut up.” Noel Gallagher, on the other hand, has stayed quiet other than posting teasers.
