Singer Taeil has left K-pop boyband NCT following sexual assault allegations. Agency SM Entertainment has confirmed the news.
K-pop singer Taeil has been accused of sexual assault and is leaving boy band NCT. According to an official statement, the news has been confirmed by his agency SM Entertainment. SM Entertainment released the following statement on August 28. It read, “This is SM Entertainment. We recently learned that Taeil has been charged in a criminal case involving a sexual offense. While we were assessing the facts surrounding the case, we recognized the severity of the situation and determined that Taeil can no longer continue his activities with the team (NCT). After discussing with Taeil, we have decided on his departure from the group.”
The statement further said, “Taeil is currently fully cooperating with the police investigation. We will make further statements as the investigation progresses. We deeply apologize for the anxiety and distress caused to our artist.”

Fans were shocked by the revelation, with many also noticing that Taeil’s NCT bandmate, Haechan, has unfollowed him on Instagram. A fan posted about this on X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “If the members have unfollowed him. I know this issue must be serious, even his best friend has unfollowed him. Taeil has not yet released any official statement on the matter.
