The Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck divorce saga has taken a surprising turn as it has been revealed that the presiding judge has a close personal connection to both Lopez’s ex-fiancé Alex Rodriguez and Affleck himself. While the judge has publicly stated that there is no conflict of interest, one cannot ignore the fact that his son-in-law is the agent of both Affleck and A-Rod. This comes after reports that the Bennifer divorce is expected to be very messy and extremely complicated due to the lack of a prenup.
The relationship between Jennifer Lopez’s divorce judge and Affleck
Recently obtained legal documents reveal that Judge Bradley S. Phillips has revealed an unexpected connection to the celebrities involved in the ongoing divorce proceedings. TMZ has learned that the presiding judge has deep family ties to both parties. It turns out that Phillips’ son-in-law Strand Conover is a partner and agent at WME, the talent agency that represents both Affleck and Lopez’s ex-fiancé Alex Rodriguez.

Ben Affleck’s producing partner Matt Damon could also be embroiled in a legal dispute due to the absence of a prenuptial agreement. The company, established in November 2022, four months after Ben and Jennifer married, could be considered community property, complicating the division of assets.
Conover’s relationship with Alex Rodriguez
When Bennifer’s divorce news broke, Jennifer Lopez’s ex-fiance Alex Rodriguez posted a cryptic message online that left everyone wondering. A quote shared on his Instagram page and attributed to the former MLB star read, “You either go one way or the other; you better decide the direction.”
According to an entertainment outlet, Conover not only knows Lopez through Affleck, but first met her when she was dating and later engaged to A-Rod. Judge Phillips, who noted that his son-in-law works as A-Rod’s agent for his team for business deals at WME, explained that Conover first got to know Lopez while working with the former fiancée.
