What are fans saying about RM’s statement?

Within a few hours of the release of Neva Play on YouTube, Fans everywhere were excited to share their thoughts on the collaboration. Many expressed interest in RM’s statement, which he posted on his Instagram Story a few hours ago. BTS fans believe it could emphasize that the boy band has “paved the way” for Asian artists globally and created a new market.

One Twitter/X user commented, “These guys have been thoughtfully humble for years, it’s time they start claiming it.” Another fan agreed with their words, writing, “And he’ll say it again.” Someone commented, “No matter how much you all hate this guy, one thing you can’t deny is that he’s one of the few real rappers in K-pop.”

Many users have criticized the artist for taking all the credit for making K-pop a globally recognized music industry. However, others are defending their beloved idol, maintaining that he gets recognition for his struggles.

One fan defended RM, saying, “They got mad at him when he agreed to this on Weverse Live so he went ahead and immortalized it in a song, I know it’s right.” In support of the group, someone wrote, “BTS has been humble for 11 years, never claiming their title for respect. Now, it’s time for them to speak loud and proud about this, losers can cry.”

Another fan added, “It’s the way Namjoon (RM) is doing his anti-Asian research about Asian artists and every Asian person in the industry that makes his point even stronger. His power is unbelievable.”

Both artists combined their musical styles in the song. Megan added her signature bold style rap, while RM embraced the more soothing side of the song with his deep voice. RM’s segment adds an edge to the song’s energetic beats, making it a dance-worthy music video. He raps, ‘Smooth like a criminal, on digital / Y’all got work looking so pathetic.’

It is worth noting that we only see an animated version of RM while Megan is seen stealing the spotlight in a red outfit. The music video is designed like a fantasy world, featuring anime-inspired structures and plot.
