James Earl Jones who played the role as the voice of Darth Vader in the Star Wars saga is no more. The actor has been praised on several occasions for his phenomenal impact on the film industry and his fans are missing him dearly in his absence.
The news was also confirmed by the official Star Wars website and the Empire State Building Instagram and Twitter/X accounts, which paid emotional tribute to the artist. Fans on Reddit also remembered the Star Wars and Empire State Building collaboration, with an image of Darth Vader lit up on March 21, 2024.
What was posted by the Star Wars website and the Empire State Building?
Today, the Empire State Building posted tributes to the late voice actor James Earl Jones on its Instagram and Twitter/X accounts. Both posts carry the caption, “Rest in Peace Lord Vader.”
The picture shows the building lit up in red, reflecting the image of Darth Vader from the Star Wars Dynamic Light Show that took place earlier this year. Fans were shocked to see the post and many expressed their sadness at the tragic news.
The official Star Wars website also left a warm message about the death of one of its finest actors. Jones once said, “I’m very happy to be a part of the whole legend. Even as a supervisor, and I’m just a supervisor. I’m a special effect, you know, at best.” However, the Star Wars team believed that he did not take enough credit for his influence in the creation of the saga.
Paying tribute to him, the team wrote, “To all of us at Lucasfilm, and to countless audience members, James Earl Jones was much more than “just an observer.” He was the voice of the character at the center of our most beloved story, and he will live in our hearts – and imaginations – forever.”
