Norwegian electronic music pioneer Alan Walker has gained a huge following in India over the years and this has led him to bring his most extensive output to date to India. Walker, who has given hits like ‘Faded’, ‘Unsure’ and most recently ‘Children of the Sun’ with Pritam and Vishal Mishra between September and October, will perform in Bengaluru this week. Last time he was here, he gave a surprise anthem for Royal Challengers Bangalore with the song ‘Team Side Feet’. RCB’ when the IPL started earlier this year.

Now, he’s back with his Walkerworld Tour in partnership with the Sunburn Arena concert series. “I’m so excited to be back in India on my biggest tour to date and share new music with everyone,” Walker said in a statement when the shows were announced. The Indian crowd always brings amazing energy and I can’t wait to create some unforgettable moments together.”

Swiss singer-songwriter NNAVY, who has been performing across India, will visit Windmills as part of the show in Bengaluru. The artist releases his latest EP with keyboardist Natan Niddam, guitarist Lucien Businaro, bassist Baptiste Coqueret and drummer Maximilian Einhorn close to In 2023.

The event description reads, “NNAVY, known for her rich, soulful sound, has rapidly risen to prominence on the international music scene. Like with the debut EP Blue And in good companyShe has captured the hearts of listeners around the world, performing at prestigious festivals including Montreux Jazz and Jazz à Vienne. His soulful storytelling combined with a modern take on jazz and R&B has earned him over 20 million streams on Spotify.

Indie Grrrl and Little Sounds Presents Mirelle, Meghna Mokhasi

The platform Indie Grrrl – founded to help female artists in the country – teams up with house concert organizers Little Sounds for the house gig series, Indie Sounds. This time, she highlights two rising singer-songwriter talents from the city – Mirel and Meghna Mokhasi.

Organizers say in their event description, “Our home event has everything you want from intimate concerts and is a great way to spend a Sunday discovering some of the best musical talent in your city.”

The program describes Mokhasi’s music as focused on lyrical storytelling. It further added, “Known for writing sad songs with funky guitars, Meghna has enthralled the audience with her soulful tunes.”

Apart from being a singer, Mirel is also a writer and western music singing instructor. The description states, “His involvement in numerous musicals and theater has contributed to the diverse mix of styles he performs today such as jazz-pop, indie, soul and occasionally R&B.”

Pop artist Shalmali Kholgade and her band make a stopover in the city on their four-city This Is Me India Tour, which will begin on home turf in Mumbai on October 3. The singer of songs like ‘Pareshaan’ continues to focus on building her original music catalog, releasing albums 2X Side A And 2X Side B In 2021 and 2022 respectively.

With this tour, Shalmali wants her own music and arrangements to shine more. When asked about sticking to the indoor club format for her upcoming shows, she says, “There are a couple of reasons actually. Most importantly among them, I needed to start my performance journey in the indie space from the basics – with the most rudimentary set up, while maintaining musicality. I felt like a four-piece band would be able to do that.
