Josh Brolin revealed that he always has a nicotine bag in his mouth, even when he sleeps. The actor confessed that his habit was so strong that sometimes he would bite his lips even when he was unconscious. Brolin, who married his third wife, Katherine Boyd Brolin, in 2016, shared his struggle with addiction on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast on Thursday.

On the podcast, the actor, who plays Thanos in Marvel’s Avengers franchise, admitted, “I have a pouch in my lip, and I’m not lying 24 hours a day. Then I started taking them out and placing them on the bedside table. As he demonstrated opening the gym pack, the actor said, “My wife used to listen to it in the middle of the night. I don’t even know I’m doing it, I’m sleeping.
Brolin is also the father of daughter Eden, 30, and son Trevor, 36, with ex-wife Alice Adair and is often worried that his bad habit will be adopted by his children. He said, ‘My child will ingest it at 2 years old, which is really it – maybe there’s no nicotine in it, maybe there’s no danger, but if she puts it in her mouth, she’ll get sick. And instead of stopping, I try to teach them, ‘Don’t do that. Stay away from dad’s whore. “Daddy needs this,” as reported by Page Six.
According to Yale Medicine, nicotine pouches are tobacco-free and “are placed between a person’s lips or cheek and gums; The nicotine is absorbed into their bloodstream through the mucous membranes in their mouth. Before the pouch, Brolin had a habit of sucking nicotine lozenges, however, they caused severe damage to his bright smile.
“They go off in two seconds, but they taste like gasoline, and they have a hit,” he revealed. But I kept them between my gum and tooth line. I found seven cavities. That’s why I switched [pouches]there’s a ton of sugar [in lozenges],

Brolin recalls his desperation for substance
The actor recalled the time when he was busy shooting in the Middle East, when a local businessman approached him, carrying doses which were higher than his usual intake. He shared, “We’re in Jordan, and he comes up to me, and says, ‘I have some,’ and it has a skull and crossbones on the top, and it’s 40 mg packets. And I said, ‘I can’t do that.’
However, the idea did not seem so crazy to him at the time, as he only had “four or five boxes” left. Thus he decided to give it a try.
He revealed, “I never put that thing in my mouth, and I swear to God for my kids, no more than 20 seconds, and I had to cancel dinner that night. I was really losing my mind.
