“My ideal has always been music beyond borders,” says Sucheta Sathish, 19, who is set to perform a multilingual international concert titled Music Beyond Borders at the Surya Mahotsav in Thiruvananthapuram on December 6. Organizers say this is the first time in the festival’s 47-year history that such an event is being held. In this concert organized by Surya Stage and Film Society, Sucheta will sing in other languages including Europe, Africa and India.
The artiste, originally from Kannur, currently holds the Guinness World Record for singing in the most languages in a concert, having performed in 140 languages in over nine hours. The musical performance was a prelude to the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP28), which took place in Dubai in 2023.

In 2024, Sucheta performed a medley of five songs for Prime Minister Narendra Modi at The St. Regis Abu Dhabi and was appreciated.
At the age of 10, Sucheta started singing songs in foreign languages. While dropping her off at the airport he heard a Japanese song played by his friend from Japan. “I liked this song a lot, so I watched it on YouTube and learned it. I was able to send it to him before he reached Tokyo. “They told me I looked like an original Japanese singer,” says Sucheta.
Two years later, at a concert, she set two world records – for the most languages sung in a concert, and for the longest concert by a child – when she sang in 102 languages in 6 hours and 15 minutes. .
Sucheta, who is pursuing a graduate course in Digital Media and Communication at the Middlesex University, Dubai campus, is being trained by veteran Malayalam music director Jerry Amaldev and playback singer Asha G Menon.
Sucheta, who made her playback singing debut with an Arabic song by Manju Warrier Ayesha (2023), recently sang the track ‘Etho Yamangalil’ composed by Ranjin Raj in the Malayalam film, Anand SribalaSucheta was also featured in the reality show x factor arabia This year.

“I want to continue learning songs in different languages,” says Sucheta. It’s been a part of me since a very young age. I also want to do more international performances; I have already started performing in UAE and Bhutan.” She adds, ”I also want to learn to speak languages. Currently, I am learning Turkish language.
