Mumbai: Ranbir Kapoor, known for his versatility, shared an interesting detail on his portrayal of the iconic character of Lord Ram in Nitish Tiwari’s magnum opus Ramayan. In a recent appearance at the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah, the actor revealed that the filming of the first part of this much-awaited mythological epic has been completed.
Ranbir expressed his gratitude and excitement to be a part of “India’s greatest story”, “I am currently working on a film called Ramayana, which is India’s greatest story. It is produced by Namit Malhotra. It is being created by different crew members from all over the world and it is the greatest story of India and the kind of technology we have. is close, it’s a big thing to say to him Exciting and very gratifying opportunity for me as an actor, especially playing the role of Lord Ram.”
He also stressed on the cultural significance of the story, saying, “It is directed by Nitish Tiwari. It has two parts. I have completed shooting for Part 1 and will soon be shooting for Part 2. Just to be a part of that story. For me, it is a dream to play the role of Ram. It is a film which teaches what Indian culture is all about – family dynamics and husband-wife dynamics.

Ranbir Kapoor’s dedication towards the role is evident from the lifestyle changes he adopted during the shooting. To fully embrace the spiritual and sattvic essence of Lord Ram, Ranbir gave up alcohol and adopted a vegetarian diet.
Directed by Nitish Tiwari, Ramayan is being produced by Namit Malhotra, with a global team of creators and artists contributing to the project. The film is being made in two parts, the first part has been completed and the second part is going to start soon.
The film has an impressive ensemble cast. Sai Pallavi will be seen playing the role of Sita, bringing her beauty and depth to the role, while Yash, who is known for his impressive screen presence, plays Ravana.
