Kannada actor Shivarajkumar, who flew to the US to undergo surgery, is feeling well after the operation, doctors said. The actor is currently under observation in a hospital in Miami.
“Shivanna’s surgery went very well,” Dr. Murugesh Manoharan said in a video message. “His cancerous bladder has been removed, completely curing his disease. An artificial bladder was recreated using his intestine,” the doctor said.
“He (Shivrajkumar) is mentally strong. He is doing very well after surgery. We hope he recovers quickly and will be back to normal in two weeks,” Dr Manoharan said.
Told fans not to panic
Actor-politician Geeta Shivarajkumar, Shivarajkumar’s wife, thanked people for their “blessings and prayers”. Primary and Secondary Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa appealed to fans not to panic over the entire episode. “Due to some protocols, we may not be able to provide frequent updates. We request people to wait patiently until we provide them with further information.”
Shivrajkumar was last seen in the hit prequel Bhairathi Ranagal, opened about His health condition during the promotion of the film. The actor did not give details about his illness. “I have a health problem and I am currently undergoing treatment for it. I will be back to film-related activities a month after my surgery,” he said.
Producer and Shivarajkumar’s daughter Nivedita Shivarajkumar said in a statement, “I express my gratitude to Dr. Murugesh Manoharan at Miami Healthcare. I also thank the fans, friends, media members and family. My father has been a pillar of strength. We will keep you updated about his recovery.

The 62-year-old actor has many films in his kitty. Apart from an untitled project with Karthik Advaith, Shivarajkumar is set to work with director Srini A for joy, An untitled project with Pawan Wadeyar and Hemant M. Rao Bhairavan Koniya Pata. He is also waiting for release 45, Directed by Arjun Janya and starring Upendra and Raj B Shetty.
