Allu Arjun stampede case: Actor appears before Chikkadpally police for questioning over stampede during Pushpa-2

The streets of Chikkadpally in Hyderabad were filled with the sound of barricades as actor Allu Arjun, along with his father Allu Aravind and legal team arrived at the Chikkadpally police station for questioning around 11 am on Tuesday (December 24, 2024). A 35-year-old woman lost her life in the Pushpa 2 stampede on December 4 and her eight-year-old son is battling for his life.

During the interrogation that lasted for about three and a half hours, the actor was questioned about whether he had held a press conference when the investigation was going on. He was also questioned about whether he was allowed to go to the theater on 4 December and about his claim that he was unaware of the woman’s death during the show, among other things.

The actor left the police station around 3 pm, after which the crowd gradually dispersed. Hyderabad Police has asked him to make himself available for possible further questioning in this case.

The actor was served a ‘notice to appear’ at 11.36 am on Monday (December 23, 2024), asking him to appear at the police station.

Raju’s notice read, “The matter is under investigation and your presence is quite necessary before the undersigned officer to seek your response regarding the incident and if necessary to visit the crime scene.” Naik, Inspector of Chikkadpally Police Station. Anticipating a large crowd, police formed a cordon to keep away curious spectators and media persons. Heavy police deployment was seen on the streets of Chikkadpally, especially on Street No. 6 where the police station is located as well as Sandhya Theater where the stampede was reported.

Police officials kept a tight vigil on any locals or fans trying to enter the roads leading to the police stations.

Earlier, the actor was arrested by Chikkadpally police on December 13, and he spent a night in Chanchalguda jail. He was granted bail and released from jail on 14 December.
