Hansal Mehta reacts to Anupam Kher calling his tweet about Manmohan Singh biopic ‘messed up’

There was a heated exchange between actor Anupam Kher and filmmaker Hansal Mehta over the 2019 film ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’. The controversy began when Mehta supported journalist Veer Sanghvi’s tweet, which described the film as “one of the worst Hindi films”.

Veer wrote to “Rather, it’s an example of how the media was used.” To spoil the name of a good man.”

Responding to this, Hansal wrote, “+100.”

Later, replying to Hansal’s tweet, Anupam Kher wrote, “The hypocrite in this thread is not @virsanghvi. He has the freedom to not like a film. But @mehtahansal was the #CreativeDirector of #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister. Who shot the entire shoot.” Was present during 2015. Is giving his creative input for the film and may have taken 100% fee for it. #Veersanghvi’s comment is very wrong and full of double standards. Not that I agree with Mr. Sanghvi but we should not accept this class of people, I still have our share of shooting. All the videos and pictures are there!”

The director also defended his tweet and said, “Of course I own my mistakes Mr. Kher. And I can admit that I made a mistake. Can’t I sir? I did my job professionally.” As I was allowed. Can you deny” But that doesn’t mean I have to keep defending the film or it will take away my impartiality regarding the error of my judgment and hypocrisy. ,

“And by the way @anupampkher sir… you can say whatever you want. Call me by name if you want. Sorry if I hurt you unknowingly. Sending love to you. Whenever you want we can I will speak and clarify the situation. Do not give space to trolls to distort this further and have a field day at our expense. Good night to you and all the hyperactive trolls, a merry belated Christmas and a very happy New Year in advance.”

Anupam Kher played the role of Dr. Manmohan Singh in ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ directed by Vijay Ratnakar Gutte. Hansal Mehta played the character of Naveen Patnaik. The film also stars Akshaye Khanna as Sanjay Baru, Suzanne Bernert as Sonia Gandhi, Arjun Mathur as Rahul Gandhi and Aahana Kumra as Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Despite its notable cast, the film faced severe criticism and was a box office failure.
