Govinda’s wife Sunita Ahuja recently shared some surprising details about their marriage and the nature of her actor-husband. Recalling her early days, Sunita mentioned that when she first met Govinda, he had a tomboy look, had short hair and wore skirts.
He told that Govinda often jokingly called him boy. She told Hindi, “I always wore shorts etc., when I met him, my hair was also short. He used to say that I am a boy. He wanted me to wear sarees all the time, I never liked that because He was very backward.” rush.
Sunita also revealed that she was the one who took the initiative in their relationship, as Govinda was “afraid of even touching women.” However, he added that Govinda is not particularly romantic, at least not in real life.
“Now, I don’t know if he has become like that or not. You never know what people do behind your back. Never trust a man. People change colors like chameleons. We’ve been married 37 years. Where will he go? Earlier he did not go anywhere, now I don’t know…” he said sarcastically.
Regarding their living conditions, Sunita told that they mostly live in different houses. He told that Govinda often stays in his bungalow as he stays till late after meetings and functions. “We have two houses, a bungalow opposite our apartment. The flat has my temple and my kids. We stay in the flat while he comes late after his meetings. He likes to talk so he talks to 10 people. Will gather and sit chatting with them. While I, my son and my daughter live together, we hardly talk because I feel you are wasting your energy by talking too much,” they shared.
When asked about Govinda’s romantic side, Sunita laughed and said, “I have told him not to be my husband in the next life. He doesn’t go on holidays. I am a person who loves to be with my husband. I want to go out.” And used to eat pani-puri on the streets. He spent too much time working… I don’t remember a single instance when either of us went out to watch a movie.
They also reflected on how their sense of security in marriage has changed over time. Sunita said that she felt safe when Govinda worked with actresses like Raveena Tandon and Karisma Kapoor, but now she is more cautious. “I used to feel safe in our marriage, but now I don’t,” she said with a laugh.
