New Delhi: Bollywood actor Sunny Deol paid an emotional tribute to the courage, sacrifice and dedication of the Indian Army on the occasion of Army Day on January 15.
The ‘Gadar’ star spent the day with the soldiers, participating in activities, sharing personal moments and saluting the bravery of the country’s defenders.
Deol shared several videos and pictures from his trip on Instagram. In a video, actors and soldiers can be heard chanting “Bharat Mata ki Jai”.
Other pictures show Sunny engaging with soldiers, posing for photographs and even playing arm wrestling with them.
In the caption, he wrote, “Salute to the courage, sacrifice and unwavering dedication of our heroes then, now and always. Happy Indian Army Day! #HindustanZindabad #ArmyDay.”
This tribute by Sunny Deol is an important day for the Indian Army, which is celebrating its 77th Army Day this year.
Army Day commemorates the service and sacrifice of the men and women who defend the nation, this year’s celebrations showcase India’s ongoing commitment to technological progress and self-reliance.
On this occasion, President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and others paid tribute.
On the professional front, Deol is gearing up for the release of his much-awaited film ‘Border 2’.
The film, scheduled to release in January 2026, will feature a star cast including Diljit Dosanjh, Varun Dhawan and Ahan Shetty.
Directed by Anurag Singh, Deol will be seen reprising his role in the sequel to the iconic Border (1997) which promises an action-packed, patriotic cinematic experience.
‘Border 2’ is expected to continue the legacy of its predecessor, which depicted the India-Pakistan war of 1971.
Apart from ‘Border 2’, Sunny Deol is also set to make a strong comeback on the big screen with the action-packed thriller ‘Jaat’, releasing in April 2025.
The teaser, which was released in December 2024, has already created a lot of excitement, featuring high-octane action sequences, including intense hand-to-hand combat and thrilling stunts.
Directed by Gopichand Malineni, the film also stars Randeep Hooda, Vineet Kumar Singh and Regina Cassandra.
