Accepting his award, Annu Kapoor shared interesting stories from his career. He recalled an important moment in 1993, when Zee invited him to record a promo. However, unexpected delays postponed the shooting until a call on August 6, 1993 changed his life. Bijendra Singh asked him to come forward as the host of a show after the previous host left. This spontaneous occasion turned out to be the first day of shooting for ‘Antakshari’, a show that cemented its place in television history. “That day, I was told I would never look back—and I never did,” he reflected.
