Recently, Urvashi Rautela came into the center of controversy after making insensitive remarks regarding the attack on Saif Ali Khan. The actor shared an apology post on social media, but it was deleted shortly after.
The internet wasted no time in reacting, with users criticizing his actions. One user wrote, “Apologizing and deleting? Is this a joke or a publicity stunt?” Another on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, “It seems like she’s just trying to stay relevant. This doesn’t sound like an apology.”
“She apologized, then deleted it? That makes everything worse,” one comment said. While one fan wrote, “Why apologize if you’re just going to delete it? It seems like she’s not even taking her apology seriously,” another posted, “This is just embarrassing.”
ICYDK: In an interview with ANI, Urvashi was asked about the knife incident at Saif’s Mumbai residence. While she expressed her concern for the actor, his comments about her jewelery drew anger.
“It’s very unfortunate. Now Daku Maharaj has crossed the Rs 105 crore mark at the box office, and my mother gifted me this diamond-studded Rolex, while my father gifted me this small watch on my finger. Granted, we don’t feel confident wearing it openly. It’s an insecurity that anyone can attack us,” she said.
Soon after, the actress shared an apology letter on Instagram (which has now been deleted). His statement read, “Dear Saif Ali Khan Sir, I hope this message will give you strength. I am writing with deep regret and heartfelt apology. Until now, I was completely unaware of the intensity of the situation that You are facing. I am ashamed that instead of pausing to acknowledge and understand what you are going through, I allowed myself to get carried away by the excitement of Daku Maharaj and the gifts I receive.”
“Please accept my heartfelt apologies for being so ignorant and insensitive. Now that I have learned the gravity of your case, I am deeply moved and want to offer my unwavering support. Your Grace, during such challenging times. The dignity and resilience is truly admirable, and I have nothing but immense respect for your strength,” he added.
The actress concluded, “If there is any way I can help or support, please do not hesitate to let me know. Once again, I am truly sorry for my past indifference, sir. I strive to do better and will always “I promise to do it.” Prioritize compassion and understanding in the future.”
The incident that led to the controversy occurred on Thursday morning when Saif was stabbed by an intruder who allegedly broke into his house. The actor suffered multiple injuries, one of which was near his spine and the other on his neck. He was taken to Lilavati Hospital for treatment and underwent several surgeries.
Saif’s team shared a statement and said that he is now out of danger and is recovering. As of Saturday, Mumbai Police had not detained any suspects in connection with the attack.
