New Delhi: Vijay Verma’s career trajectory has been nothing short of remarkable, with his extraordinary talent and versatility shining across multiple projects. In a recent interview, Vijay shared how his career flourished thanks to visionary directors and producers who recognized his potential and gave him opportunities to grow. Reflecting on her success she said, “I constantly feel like everything I’ve achieved in my roles is because someone saw something in me. I am not creating this character. Somebody’s, you can play this person’s character, you can play that person’s character also. So, I want to be challenged that way. I’m desperate to do comedy and I also want to do zombie, which is one of my favorite genres.”
Vijay’s dedication towards playing challenging roles has been evident in his recent work. He said last year recorded a “hat-trick” of successful OTT releases, with more than 15 projects across films and series since 2020. Many of these projects were featured on major streaming platforms like Netflix and Amazon, where he worked with some. Varma also discussed the change in Bollywood’s approach towards storytelling, pointing to the success of IC814, a historical drama on Netflix. “IC814 was one of the biggest shows ever made by Netflix. It is talking about a story that is based on a historical event. It gives me a new version of Bollywood, which doesn’t subscribe to the traditional formula of four songs, seven fight scenes and a fixed structure. This is a new equality and this is what I understand,” he said.
With outstanding performances in projects like IC814, Darlings, Dahad and Jaane Jaan, Vijay Varma has firmly established himself as a powerhouse in Indian entertainment. Her upcoming slate includes the much-awaited Ul Jalul Ishq and the highly talked about series Matka King directed by Nagraj Manjule.
