anapiranol Directed by Shivamohan Thampi has been selected as the Best Teleserial at the 2023 Kerala State Television Awards, while Su.su. Surbhiyun Suhasiniyum Directed by Rajesh Thalachira was adjudged the second best teleserial.
In the last two years, no teleserial was selected for the award citing lack of quality of the entries. Cultural Affairs Minister Saji Cherian announced the awards at a press conference here on Wednesday.
The jury noted with disappointment that only a few entries were of some quality, while most appeared to follow a similar pattern in content and setting. It suggested that producers avoid misogynistic and other regressive content in television serials. No entries were considered in the Children’s Short Film category as they did not meet the standard.
The jury found most of the comedy programs to be substandard, but still considered them a platform to showcase new talent. The jury said that the entertainment programs produced directly by the channels were of high quality.

Kanmashi Won Best Telefilm (less than 20 minutes duration) directed by Anoop Krishnan Lily Directed by Maryam Shanoub was chosen as Best Telefilm (duration more than 20 minutes). Anoop Krishnan also won the Best Director (Teleserial/Telefilm) as well as Best Actor awards for the same telefilm. Seenu Raghavendra won the second best actor award Amme Bhagwati,
Rhea Kuriakose and Maryam Shanoub shared the Best Actor (Female) award for their performances anapiranol And Lily Respectively. Anukutty won the Second Best Actor (Female) award Su.su. Surbhiyun SuhasiniyumGanga won the best story award anapiranol, oru chiri iru chiri bumper chiri Won the Best Comedy Program Award and Kidilam Won Best TV Show (Entertainment).
