Lin Ban, Bling Empire: New York StarDies at 52 after undergoing brain surgery

Lin Ban, famed jewelry designer and star of Bling Empire: New York, has died. She was 52 years old. The designer died after undergoing emergency surgery following a skiing accident. His son, Sebastian, confirmed the news in an Instagram post.

“My mom passed away on Monday, I know she wanted to share her journey after her accident and brain surgery, so I thought she would appreciate one last post to share the news with those who Supported him.” Sebastian wrote, along with a series of family photos.

“Many of you followed my mom, but never had the chance to know her or meet her. I would like to take this opportunity to share who my mom really was. She was and will always be my best friend. Friend, would be the best mother I could be, and someone who cared about everyone,” he continued.

Sebastian also reflected on his strength and resilience during his recovery. “She always had a smile on her face when times were tough during her recovery process. She was a fighter to the end and is the strongest woman I know.” He remembered her as “the funniest and coolest mum”, adding that she would make sure her legacy lived on.

“Although she may be gone now, I will do everything I can to make sure she is never forgotten and that her life is celebrated as it is worthy. One for my mommy As a final message, I would just like to say that I will miss you forever and to end [with] Something she always told me was ‘I love you more than myself’ mum,” she concluded.

Lynn suffered a fatal brain bleed after a skiing accident on Christmas Eve 2024. She shared details of her harrowing experience in an Instagram post on Dec. 30, explaining that the accident happened while skiing in Aspen with her family.

Lynn, who was wearing a helmet, described how the tip of his skis caught on something, causing him to fall face-first. Although she initially did not think it was serious, she decided to get checked by ski patrol, who cleared her. However, after experiencing a headache, the paramedic suggested that she visit the hospital for a CAT scan.

“It saved my life,” Lin later wrote, describing how her husband, Jet Qian, took her to the hospital. Within 30 minutes, they learned he had a brain bleed and needed to go to a trauma hospital. “Erring on the side of caution saved me,” she said. Lynn, who had to undergo a craniotomy, shared photos of herself in the hospital with her head shaved and several surgical staples.

Lynn is survived by her son Sebastian and her husband Jett.
