Officials have filed an FIR against YouTuber Elvish Yadav for posting a misleading video for a music video shoot in Jaipur on Wednesday (February 12, 2025).
The police have rejected his claim, stating that no official security was provided to Mr. Yadav and a case has been registered against him for trying to harm the prestige of the Rajasthan Police.
After uploading a video on social media, Mr. Yadav provoked a controversy on Monday, where he was seen traveling in a car run by Krishnavardhan Singh Khacharavas, son of former Rajasthan minister Pratap Singh Khacharavas.
In the video, a police vehicle was seen moving ahead with Mr. Yadav in front of Mr. Krishnavardhan’s car, claiming that the police were escorting him. During his conversation, Mr. Krishnavardhan says that police vehicles would change as they had gone through various courts.
The authenticity of the video could not be verified independently PTI,
However, the Rajasthan Police has rejected these claims.
Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph said that no such escort was provided to YouTuber. “An FIR has been lodged against him in this case.”
Additional Commissioner of Police Rameshwar Singh also said that Yadav was not assigned any escort and police protection is provided only on the established protocol.
ACP Kunwar Rashtradeep said that an FIR has been lodged against Yadav at the cyber police station to share an “fake video” which can damage the reputation of the Rajasthan Police.
YouTuber traveled to Jaipur for a music video shoot in Sambhar on 8 February and also shot a Vlog during his visit.
The controversial footage was part of this Vlog, which showed a police vehicle driving in front of him. The video also shows Mr. Yadav’s car bypassing a toll booth without paying a toll booth by following the police vehicle.
Meanwhile, Pratap Singh Ghahariwas has distanced himself and his son from controversy, stating that neither of them requested a police escort.
He said, “Elvish Yadav often met me and as a politician, I meet many people. My government is not in power, so I do not know who arranged the police vehicle or why,” he said.
“Neither my son nor I asked for escort. The state government or Elvish should clarify what was happening to those police vehicles. The issue is being extended a lot, “Mr. Khanariivas told reporters.
The case is being investigated.
