After announcing the separation from AR Rahman, Saira Banu should not be addressed as “East-Vaiva”: “We are still …”

New Delhi:

Oscar winning music composer R Rahman, who was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai last night, has been discharged today. In the meantime, the musician’s wife Saira Banu requested the fans not to address them as a “ex -wife”.

On Sunday, Saira shared a voice note to address the situation, which begins with ‘Salaam’. He expressed, “Assalamualicum. I wish him a quick recovery. I got the news that he had chest pain and went through angiography, and by the grace of Allah, he is fine now; he is doing well;

He said, “I want to tell all of you that we are not officially divorced, we are still husband and wife, this is just that we have separated because I was not feeling well for the last two years and I did not want to give her too much stress, but please do not say ‘East-wife’. Hafiz”.

Earlier today, the musician’s spokesperson shared that Rahman was feeling unwell and went for a check-up last night, where doctors confirmed that his condition was due to dehydration, fasting for Ramadan.

The spokesperson told NDTV, “He returned from London yesterday and felt unwell, so he went to the hospital for a check-up last night. However, according to doctors, it was due to dehydration, as he too is fasting for Ramadan.”

AR Rahman made headlines last year and his wife Saira Banu announced his divorce through his lawyers. The couple were married for 29 years and had three children – sons AR Amin, and two daughters, Khatija Rahman and Rahema Rahman. Soon after the news broke, the composer opened up how to “shatter” the “weight of the broken hearts”. AR Rahman posted a heartbreaking update on X (East Twitter), which he ended by thanking his friends for honoring his privacy.

The X read in the X post, “We expected to reach Grand Thirty, but everything seems, it seems to be an unseen to the end. Even the throne of God can tremble on the weight of the broken hearts. Nevertheless, in this disinterest, we seek meaning, although the pieces cannot find their place again.”
