The upcoming film Abir Gulal, the upcoming film of Pakistani actor Favad Khan to release on May 9, has created controversy as the Maharashtra Navneman Sena (MNS) has strongly opposed its screening in India.
A senior MNS leader Ameya Khopkar took on social media to confirm the party’s stand against Pakistani artists working in India.
In his post, he said, “Despite repeatedly clarifying that Pakistani artists will not be allowed to release in India, some still try to pursue their agenda. It is up to MNS workers to throw them into garbage, and we will not allow it to continue.

MNS has historically opposed Pakistani actors and actors working in the Indian film industry, citing tension between the two countries. The party has previously opposed against films featuring Pakistani actors, including Fawad Khan’s previous projects.
So far, the manufacturers of Abir Gulal have not responded to the objections of MNS. It remains to be seen whether the film will remove any obstacle in its scheduled release in India. The teaser of ‘Abir Gulal’ was released on Tuesday.

Director Aarti’s Baghdi shared insight into the first story, described it as the discovery of love and emotional treatment. He said, “The film examines the journey of two persons, which inadvertently help fix each other, with love bloom as an unexpected result.” The shooting was wrapped in November, including various picturesque places in the UK.
