Washington DC: Marwin Levi, who handled public relations for more than five decades for the director Steven Spielberg, for over five decades and became the only campaigner to receive an Oscar, died at the age of 96, reported the deadline.
Amblyn Entertainment, a film production company founded by Spielberg, announced the demise. According to the outlet, Levi died on Monday, 7 April.
In a press note, Spielberg mourned the loss of his campaigner and praised Levi’s media handling skills.
“Marwin’s death is a huge disadvantage to me and our industry. Many talented PR officers, but Marwin was one in a way. For more than 50 years, he was a deep loyal and extraordinary ally, who respected and appreciated by all those who were lucky to learn from their lawyers. When he came to handle the press, he was not a worker,” Spielberg, quoting the deadline, said.
The director of the jaw further said, “For the world of media and exhibition, Marwin was the face of Amblin. We were opposite to the process of making the film. Every time I reached the end of production on a film, Marvin’s work started only.
Spielberg called him a creative and innovative pracharak, who was appreciated for his skills by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, as he won the Honorary Oscar Award in 2018.
