The beginning of Raja Khan’s grand Met Gala is official! After months of speculation, it has been confirmed that Shah Rukh Khan will make a historic debut in this year’s Met Gala. The Bollywood superstar will donate a Sabyasachi dress at the event to be held in the prestigious Metropolitan Museum of Art on 5 May.
A popular anonymous fashion account diet Sabya on Instagram confirmed the news on Sunday, 27 April. “National Headline. Threads in recession. Entertainment sites foaming foaming on the mouth. Twitter Frenzy et al. Time to close it. (India’s largest luxury brand).


Speculation about the introduction of SRK at Met Gala occurred in April when the same Instagram account indicated massive cooperation between “the biggest Bollywood superstar and our generation’s biggest designer”. Fans began to guess that this post mentioned popular fashion designers Shah Rukh and Sabyasachi Mukherjee behind Indian luxury label Sabyasachi.
Since the news about the superstar’s Met Gala debut broke, fans are eagerly waiting to see what Shah Rukh wears at the popular fashion event. Interestingly, the theme of this year’s Met Gala is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”, which Monica L. Miller’s Book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and The Style of Black Diasporic Identity. On the other hand, the dress code, “is sewn to you,”, which according to the diet Sabya, means “bringing into your own cultural nature and experience for the story-in experience.”
With this, Shah Rukh became the first Indian male actor to run on a red carpet in Met Gala. Earlier, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt have participated in the prestigious fashion event. Interestingly, last year, Sabyasachi Mukherjee became the first Indian fashion designer to run on Met Gala carpet.
