A planetarium of Indian film celebrities attended the opening ceremony of the wave summit 2025 in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai in Mumbai on Thursday (1 May). Hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and hosted by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB), the four -day program is in India as a global hub for India, entertainment, and digital innovation, bringing creators, startups, industry leaders and policy makers simultaneously.

Shah Rukh Khan, Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan, Hema Malini, Ranbir Kapoor, Nagarjuna, Chiranjeevi, Anil Kapoor, Karthik Aryan and filmmaker SS Rajamouli and top stars for others.
Mohanlal presented an audio-visual presentation on the waves, while Rajinikanth became the first celebrity on the platform to speak about the recent terrorist attack in Pahgam. He called Prime Minister Narendra Modi a ‘fighter’ believing in the leader.
“Many people said, () the government will postpone the incident because it is about entertainment,” Rajinikanth said. “But I was sure that this would happen.” Rajinikanth said, “My heartfelt congratulations to the government and the media industry. Always raising my support. Thank you for the opportunity.”
Speaking on the stage at the Waves Summit, Indian superstar Shah Rukh Khan said, “The global scene -literature and entertainment economy not only sees our stories as art, but as a property of global and national value. PM Narendra Modi is inspired by a grand point of view, it is more than a peak.
SS Rajamouli, talking about the importance of waves, said, “India is the land of storytellers for millions of years. We have a lot of art forms to tell our stories. Our stories are infinite. Telling the story is in our DNA. Nevertheless, on the international stage, on the international stage, we will work with the US, Japan.
Ranbir Kapoor said, “From films and music and state -of -the -art technologies, this is the place where all this changes. I am thankful to the PM to give an opportunity to stay on the board.”
Karthik Aryan said, “This is the first time I am speaking in front of you, Sir PM Modi. My heart is pounding. I am called the superstar of the country as Taliva Rajinikanth.”
Oscar winning composer MM Kerwani also performed the inauguration song with a 30 -member orchestra.

Anil Kapoor, a advisory member of the Waves Board, said, “A story that started thousands of years ago. This experience will take us through emotions. It is by Sharad Kelkar, and displays diversity, unity and respect for culture. It is ‘Shankalap’, our resolve.” He was speaking about the initial day performance by actor-narrator Sharad Kelkar.
At the summit, Nagarjuna launched special memorial tickets by the Department of Posts of the Government of India, honoring the legacy of five stallwarts of Indian cinema. “During the 55th IFFI, we appreciated four stalwarts including Raj Kapoor ji and my father. Today, the government will release a memorial stamp for Guru Dutt, Ritvik Ghanat, Salil Chaudhary, Raj Khosla and Panmati. The legacy of incredible cinema is being honored.
Actor Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Oscar winning composer R Rahman and many others are also attending Wave Summit
