Anil Kapoor, Boney Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor’s mother, Nirmal Surinder Kapoor, died on Friday, May 2. She was 90 years old. He breathed his last at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai.
Nirmal Kapoor’s funeral was performed at Pawan Hans crematorium on Saturday, where close families and friends came together to pay their honors.
Now, members of the Kapoor family are remembering Nirmal Kapoor with a heartfelt tribute on social media.
Anil Kapoor shared a touching note on Instagram. The actor thanked his love and power that his mother did not give not only his children, but also to all the people around him.
Anil Kapoor wrote, “It has been heavy to love all areas of life. I really do not have the words to express how deeply we are. My mother touched so many lives, not only straight, but through those who were one of those notable women who met anytime together, but always shot a silent.
The actor said, “She was glue, which kept our family closed from our children to our grandchildren and even our expanded family and friends.
Anil Kapoor signed with words, “A heartfelt thanks to everyone, especially from the film fraternity, for your kind of words, prayers and love. We are really humble and grateful.”
Sonam Kapoor paid a heartfelt tribute to her grandmother by posting a series of throbac photos on Instagram. Hindola included a glimpse of Sonam’s childhood, clear family celebrations and even her wedding celebration.
In his caption, the actor used the Mahamratunjaya Mantra. He wrote, “Om TRAI-Ambakam Yajamhe Sugandhim Pusstati-Vardhanam Urverukam-Iva Bindanananananan Mirtor-Muksisia Maa-[A]Mrtaat ||
Boney Kapoor shared a series of pictures of Nirmal Kapoor. In the caption, he wrote, “royal,” and some red hearts dropped.
Boney Kapoor’s daughter, Ansula Kapoor also paid tribute to Nirmal Kapoor.
In her wide Instagram note, she wrote, “Grandma, if you knew her, you know her love language was feeding people. And how fluently she said with a fluent! She caught us together, she justified us. And as long as her body allows her, she holds each other, I hope she hopes that she misses Dadu very much.
He said, “He taught me to feed them the best way to love someone, first heart. And I think this is the lesson I will take with me for life. Love you grandmother,” she said.
Wait, more. Last but at least, Sanjay Kapoor’s daughter Shanaya Kapoor also shared a group of images on Instagram. The post himself, Nirmal Kapoor and the Kapoor family had many other members. She was read in her simple and sweet caption, “Grandma.”
After his mother’s death, Boney Kapoor released a statement on Instagram. It read, “On May 2, 2025, he died peacefully, surrounded his beloved family. She lived a full and joyful life, left behind four dedicated children, loving daughters, a careful son-in-law, eleven grandson, four great-grandchildren, and a lifetime of treasures.” Click here to read the full story.
