Kan 2025: Leonardo Dickaprio honored Robert de Niro with Palme D’Or for life achievement

Ear (Paris):

Veteran actor Robert de Niro was given honorary Palame D’Or on Tuesday evening (midnight in India) in Cannes 2025 for a lifetime achievement.

Actor and filmmaker Leonardo Dickaprio presented Robert D Nero for the lifetime achievement at the opening ceremony of Cannes Film Festival as per the time limit.

Lucas received a heartfelt tribute from the audience, which according to the video shared by the deadline, gave him a permanent ovation after receiving the award.

Members of the jury were also seen giving a permanent ovation to the actor as he received an award.

D Nero has earned two Academy Awards, one for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Vito Korlen (in flashback scenes) in The Godfather Part II (1974), one Francis Ford Copla for the best actor for the best actor for his role and scorsce’s boxing biopic drama Crazing Bull (1980) to Jack Lamota for his depictions.

He was also an Oscar-Namikar for Taxi Driver (1976), The Dear Hunter (1978), Awakenings (1990), Cape Fear (1991), Silver Linings Playbook (2012), and The Flower Moon (2023).

Dicaprio and D Nero first acted together in the 1993 film this boy’s life, and reunited for the killers of The Flower Moon, which appeared in 2023 in the official selection in Cannes.

At the time of the announcement to become the recipient of the Cannes Lifetime Achievement Award, D Nero said in a statement, “I have such close feelings for the festival de Kans … especially now that there is a lot in the world, we draw us separately, ears bring us together – storyteller, filmmaker, fan, and friend.

“There are faces that stand for the seventh art, and the lines of dialogue that leave an indelible mark on Cinefilia. With their inner style, with surfaces in a gentle smile or harsh gaze, Robert de Niro has become a cinematic legend,” The festival said he said when he declares respect.
