Actor Janaki Bodiwala, who acted in both Gujarati horror film ‘Vash’ and its Hindi remake ‘Shaitan’, recently shared a surprisingly back scenery with the original film. The actor opened up a bold suggestion made by ‘Vash’ director Krishnadeva Yagnik, preparing one of the most intensive scenes of the film.
The director asked Janaki to urinate for real
During a round table conversation with Filmfare, Janaki recalled a special moment in the film when his character is out of fear to prevent his father from increasing the dangerous situation, when his character is in a demonic occupation. During the initial workshops for the scene, the director made an unconventional request. “I did the Gujarati version, and I had the same scene to perform there. When we were doing workshops, the director, he is a very good person. He asked me, can you do it for real? The scene of urination. It would make a big impact. And I was very happy about it. Like, as an actor, I am getting a chance to do this.
What happened during shot
However, the scene was actually conceived as a logistics to film, proved it challenging even after coming on the set. Janaki reported that when he was initially thrilled with raw realism, it was introduced by the scene, eventually re -acted due to technical and artistic obstacles. “But later, it was not caused by art and it would have taken many retakes. It was practically not possible. So we found a way to do so. I was happy that I meet to do things that I cannot do in real life. And this scene is truly like a favorite scene. And because of that scene, I said yes,” he said yes, “
About control and devil
‘Vash’ starred Hitu Kanodia, Neelam Panchal and Hitan Kumar in lead roles, while its Hindi counterparts ‘Shaitan’ included Ajay Devgan, Jyotika and R Madhavan. Both films revolve around a family trapped in their own home, manipulating by a mysterious intruder, which gains control of daughter by Zanki in both versions. The performance of intensive psychological horror and Janaki was widely praised, standing as a significant turn in the story with this special scene.
